Cub Camp

Judy and Roger Stearns, ordinary people with a little bit of land and a lot of heart, run Black Bear Rescue Manitoba. Every spring they welcome in orphaned black bear cubs to their 10-acre facility. All of the cubs arrive deeply traumatized and alone, with some cubs being so young that they are blind and helpless. But with the round-the-clock care provided by the Stearns, including bottle feeding at all hours, these baby bears gradually recover and even thrive.
